Free Crochet Pattern Baby Owl

Tips


Work tightly and count your stitches

Crochet through both loops unless stated otherwise

Crochet in continuous rows; don’t join at the end of each row




Materials


4.0 mm hook

Medium/worsted weight yarn in aran fleck, white, curry                                                  

Polyester fiber fill

16mm Black safety eyes

Yarn needle

Eyes (make 2)

Use white yarn


R1 6 sc in mr

Allow a hole in the center large enough

for the safety eye to poke through

FO with invisible finish, leave tail for sewing


To make invisible finish after fastening off, thread yarn through needle, skip over next stitch, insert underneath the loop of sc, go back and insert needle through the loop of your last sc made in this round



Insert safety eye through center hole, but

don't snap on the locking-washer until after

placing it on the head


 

Ears (make 2)

Use white yarn


Cut 12 pieces of yarn about 3-inches long 

Arrange into a neat bundle



Cut 1 piece of yarn about 10-inches long

Tie around middle of bundle with a tight knot


 

 

Length can be trimmed after placing it on the head

Use pins to hold pieces in place

Sew wings onto body

between R20-R21


Sew feet onto body between R27-R28

Check placement to allow owl to stand without falling over
